Kareri Lake Trek

Situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain range in Kangra Valley, the Kareri Lake Trek is about nine miles away from the settlement of Kareri. Gorgeous grazing area and the campsite where shepherds camp before travelling with their flocks of sheep and goats to Chamba and Bharmour via the Baleni Pass (3711 m) and the Minkiani Pass (4250 m) across the Dhauladhar Range. Conversely, hikers are observable searching for an ideal weather window to reach the peak. Located 2934 metres above mean sea level, this freshwater lake is high in the sky. The lovely meadow surrounding the lake serves as a seasonal grazing area for a group of local shepherds’ sheep and goats.
