Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, named after King Jai Singh. In 1727, Jaipur formally has become the capital of Rajputana (later Rajasthan). It is called to as Pink City. Since the walls of Jaipur’s Old City are painted pink, it is famous as the Pink City.
The origin of the name Pink City
It is created and constructed within 7 big Gates, namely Ajmeri Gate, Sanganeri Gate, Suraj Pole, Chand Pole, Naya Pole, and Ghat Pole. Because it is surrounded on all sides by Seven Grand Gates and is walled by them, it is also known as a Walled City.
Places to visit in Jaipur
If you are in Jaipur itself takes a week to cover all the destinations, still something slip out of your list.
Amber Fort Aka Amer Fort

Amer, the old city of Jaipur, is where the Amber fort, usually known as Amer fort, is situated. Swai Man Singh and later Swai Jai Singh constructed the fort. It is located in the Hills outskirts of Jaipur for the Royal family and their army. The boundary of the fort is the third-largest boundary in the entire world. In the backside of the fort, the view of Jaigarh fort is prime visible. Amer Palace is a great architecture of the Rajput empire, with a glimpse of the Mughals. Now the fort has become a major attraction towards tourism and travellers due to the supreme built architecture.
City Palace
The Jaipur City Palace was built to serve as the Royal family’s lavish home. The monarch Swai Man Singh II constructed this royal location in 1727. Afterwards, he moves his court from Amber fort to City palace, which now continues to remain home to the current royal dynasty. At present, Princess Diya Kumari manages the trust, museum and school. The Palace is a great example of mesmerising engraved history and luxury.

Due to this, it welcomes every sunset lover with warm hugs. On the other side of Nahargarh fort, it warmly welcomes the entire city from a single point. All you need is just grab some snacks on around 5 pm, reach the rooftop of the fort, and sit there for a few hours. Say a heartwarming goodbye to the sun with a proper city view of a pink-coloured city and the pink-coloured sky. A perfect sunset does exist in Jaipur. You heard it right.

Wind Palace Aka Hawa Mahal

Wind Palace or Hawa Mahal doesn’t require any introduction among travellers. It’s not only a destination or a fort, but it becomes a status symbol of Jaipur. Without the picture of Hawa Mahal, the Jaipur section cannot be skipped. You must become accustomed to seeing this image in every traveller, tourist, and photographer profile. For a perfect view, the must-view place is the wind view cafe, just opposite Hawa Mahal which gives us a just perfect view of the same. There are a few more cafes in the same row, situated on the third floor of the building for a complete view of Hawa Mahal, like Wind view cafe, The Tattoo Cafe etc. Grab a glass of Rose Lassi and enjoy the view.
Gatore ki Chhatariya
A Rajput dynasty Kachwaha that reigned at Gatore Ki Chhatriyan was responsible for maintaining the royal crematorium grounds. Maharaja Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, chose the site in the 18th century. Since 1733, every Kachhwaha king has been cremated here. Again, it’s a great place to visit while you are searching for an offbeat place to visit in Jaipur.

The Temple is situated on the outskirts of Jaipur covered by Aravali Hills around it. It is a Hindu Pilgrimage site but now more often famous among photographers due to its beloved view and architecture. The temple is a home of hundreds of monkeys, which do not irritate any tourists. This place is now becoming a hot spot for pre-wedding shoots as well.
