According to the Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management Authority, there is a possibility that an avalanche with a “low danger level” would occur between 3200 and 3500 m above sea level across the districts of Kishtwar, Doda, Bandipora, and Kupwara.
Residents in these locations have been urged by the disaster management administration to take all essential safety measures and refrain from visiting avalanche-prone areas until further orders.
Based on the most recent information, an avalanche near the Zojila pass in the Kargil area of Ladakh caused four vehicles to become buried in the snow yesterday. The people in the cars made it out unharmed. The avalanche happened along the 434-kilometre Srinagar-Leh National Highway near Shaitani Nallah.
